It is one of the most <strong>famous summer resort <\/strong>in the region. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1325\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossingitaly.net\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/rapallo7.jpg\" alt=\"rapallo7\" width=\"180\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The origins of the village are very old and its foundation dates back to <strong>prehistoric times.<br \/>\n<\/strong>The economy of Rapallo is primarily linked to summer tourism.<\/p>\n<p>This small town has a <strong>picturesque historical centre <\/strong>with its <strong>colourful streets, <\/strong>which are worth visiting for their beauty and the atmosphere once can catch walking through the streets.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Rapallo\u2019s <strong>most important monuments are<\/strong>: <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; the <strong>Castello sul Mare, <\/strong>a symbol of the town, which was built in the sixteenth century on a cliff overlooking the sea;<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1326\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossingitaly.net\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/rapallo6gr.jpg\" alt=\"rapallo6gr\" width=\"384\" height=\"288\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.crossingitaly.net\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/rapallo6gr.jpg 384w, https:\/\/www.crossingitaly.net\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/rapallo6gr-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 384px) 100vw, 384px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; its <strong>medieval towers<\/strong>, including the <strong>Civic Tower, <\/strong>erected in the fifteenth century and recently restored;<\/p>\n<p>the <strong>Porta delle Saline, <\/strong>the only remains of the five that gave access to the historical centre of the town;<\/p>\n<p>the <strong>Ponte d&#8217;Annibale, <\/strong>built in Roman times, which is one of the most popular of Rapallo.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1327\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossingitaly.net\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/rapallo2.jpg\" alt=\"rapallo2\" width=\"235\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">There are also <strong>several religious monuments<\/strong> including:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>the <strong>Church of St. Francis of Assisi <\/strong>and the <strong>Marian shrine in Montallegro <\/strong>reachable in ten minutes thanks to the cable car.
