It counts 3170 inhabitants and it is situated\u00a0 on the <strong>northern slope of the Ligurian Appenines, <\/strong>342 meters above sea level.<\/p>\n<p>Campo Ligure has been difined one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1300\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossingitaly.net\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/campo-ligure2.jpg\" alt=\"campo ligure2\" width=\"240\" height=\"180\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It is possible to admire its urban elegance just driving on the motorway and watching out of the window.<br \/>\nIf you walk through its streets you will discover a medieval village worthy of its past as an imperial fief.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>feudal castle towers <\/strong>dominate the whole village; the <strong>medieval bridge <\/strong>crosses the river Stura; the <strong>Palazzo Spinola <\/strong>is resplendent with its decorations and colours at the intersection of the main streets.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1302\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossingitaly.net\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/campo-ligure-5.jpg\" alt=\"campo ligure 5\" width=\"180\" height=\"240\" \/>Campo Ligure is famous for being one of the major European centres for the <strong>production of watermark. <\/strong>This art is the working of fine gold threads to produce objects with a light and elegant design.<\/p>\n<p>The best designs from all around the world are exhibited in the <strong>Museum of the Watermark.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, an <strong>annual exhibition in September <\/strong>celebrates the tradition and craft production of the watermark.<\/p>\n<p>Campo Ligure, like most of Italian towns, has a proper culinary tradition, made of <strong>local dishes. <\/strong>Here we find the &#8220;<strong>revz\u00f6ra<\/strong>&#8220;, the classic Ligurian focaccia, made with corn flour.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;<strong>Bazzurri<\/strong>&#8221; is instead a soup prepared with milk and chestnuts, two basic ingredients in the kitchen of poor people.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1303\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossingitaly.net\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/campo-ligure-4.jpg\" alt=\"campo ligure 4\" width=\"240\" height=\"84\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;<strong>pute<\/strong>&#8221; is a polenta cooked in vegetable broth: after being cut into slices it were dipped in milk, now it is also served accompanied by vegetables.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Getting there<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">By car<\/span>: Highway A26 Genoa-Gravellona Toce, exit Masone.
