This region has 180 km of coastline, beautiful beaches on the Adriatic Sea, 9 marinas, 500 squares, more than 1000 significant monuments, 100 art cities, thousands of churches, including 200 Roman, 163 shrines, 34 archaeological sites, 71 theatres, 265 museums and art galleries.
There are also several protected areas: 2 national parks, (Monti Sibillini, Gran Sasso), 4 regional parks (M. Conero, Sasso Simone and Simoncello, M. San Bartolo, Gola della Rossa and di Frasassi), 4 nature reserves ( Abbadia Fiastra, Furlo Gorge, Mountain Torricchio and Ripa Bianca), more than 100 flora areas and 15 state forests.
