Mantua is located near the river Po, on the shores of the River Mincio that surrounds it, forming three lakes. In fact the city is partly surrounded by water.
Mantua is a city with neoclassical architectural style, where there also are mediaeval and Renaissance monuments.
The major monuments in the city center:
Piazza Sordello, which retains its medieval style with Palazzo Ducale and the Duomo.
