The province of Como is on the west bank of the lake for its entire length, covering an area of 1288 square km.
The area cannot be considered as "small", in fact it boasts an extraordinary variety of environments, landscapes and settlements.
Within a few kilometers there are the mountains and the lake, the wild mountain valley and the hills of industrialized Brianza, the city of Como and the villages counting few houses, the wildlife of a famous natural oasis in the north and the ski slopes in the south.
