Brescia is one of the largest cities in Lombardy.
Geographically situated in the east, it covers a land consists of mountains and a plain. The northern province is predominantly mountainous.
The city has about 192,000 inhabitants.

The climate in Brescia is characterized by cold winters with heavy snowfalls in the neighbouring mountains, and hot summers.

It is full of important monuments, among them:
the Piazza della Loggia, a fine example of Renaissance architecture, with the Palazzo Loggia and Monti di Pietà and further down the Palazzo delle Poste and the Torrione.
One of the main things to see in Brescia is the Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo, located in a XVII century palace.
Another beautiful church is the Church of St. Francis of Assisi typically franciscan in a late Romanesque style. Do not miss the Piazza del Foro.
Located on the hill Cidneo's there is the Castle (245 m). Inside is the Museo delle Armi Luigi Marzoli, one of the most important in Europe.
