The province of Bergamo is a province of Lombardy and counts 1,074,291 inhabitants. It is located at the center of the region, covering an area of 2722.86 km ² and including 244 municipalities.
Throughout the area there are towns of impressive beauty. Noteworthy are the unspoiled landscapes. An important bathing locality is the lake Sebino.
Meeting point between different cultures and for centuries the border area between Ducato Milanese and the Venetian Republic, the territory of Bergamo is rich in history and culture. Even the smallest center has its own artistic heritage.
