The town of Bellaria is the youngest municipality of Italy, but in fact it has secular origins. Igea Marina derives its name from Igea, daughter of the God of Medicine.
In 1956 Bellaria and Igea Marina formed the Municipality of Bellaria-Igea Marina.

It is located in the northern part of the Province of Rimini and it is one of the most famous seaside resorts along the Adriatic Coast, thanks not only to the 7 km of sandy shoreline, but also the city itself, offering hotels, shops, sports centres, health centres and a nature that combines the hills with the sea.

In the heart of the city lies the Gelso Park, with an extension of 40 hectares, ideal for relaxing walks.
