Emilia Romagna takes its name from the street Aemilia built by the Romans to connect the cities of Placentia (Piacenza) and Ariminum (Rimini).
It consists of 2 distinct areas: the Emilia and the Romagna. Emilia is the north west area where there are Bologna, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia, Ferrara, Modena and Parma.
While in Romagna there are, among others, the city of Ravenna, Rimini and Forlì - Cesena.
There are some very popular seaside resorts such as
Rimini, Cattolica and Riccione and the whole Riviera Romagnola offers numerous opportunities for entertainment and tourism facilities for everyone: beaches, discos, clubs and hotels of all categories.
Equally famous are the spa towns as: Porretta Terme, Terme di Tabiano and Castrocaro Terme.
Enogastronomic Products are many and famous all over the world such as Parmigiano-Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, Modena balsamic vinegar and “tortellini” .
