Sorrento is a town of about 16.000 inhabitants in the province of Naples and it is located on the north-west of the homonymous peninsula.

Standing on a tufa terrace overlooking the sea, Sorrento is famous for its beautiful beaches and its excellent cuisine.
Sorrento's economy is based primarily on tourism, agriculture (famous lemons from Sorrento) and handicraft products.

In addition to the charming Old Town, in Sorrento it is possible to admire:
the Cathedral of Saints Philip and James, built in the XVI century;
the Sedil Dominova, one of the most beautiful and important historic buildings in Sorrento;
the Basilica of St. Antonino with the revered relics of the patron saint of the city and some valuable works of art;
the George Vallet Archaeological Museum, housed in a nineteenth century palace surrounded by a beautiful public park, exhibiting numerous archaeological findings from the lands of the Gulf of Sorrento;
the Museum Shop of Tarsia Lignea.
