The town of Anacapri is located in the region of Campania in the province of Naples and has about 5800 inhabitants.
It is situated on the island of Capri, on the slopes of Monte Solaro, about 500 meters above sea level.
Its origins are ancient, and are related to the Greek domination of the island.

The historical and natural beauties to be seen include:
Grotta Azzurra, famous worldwide for water having a blue color;
the Church of Saint Michael;
Casa Rossa, a building expanded over the centuries by many owners, which takes its name from the color of the facade;
the Villa of Axel Munthe (or Villa San Michele), belonged to the Swedish doctor who lived most of his life. It maintains the objects (archaeological, historical, ethnographic) collected by the scholar and also hosts a nature reserve from where visitors can enjoy a spectacular sea view.
