Tropea is the smallest municipality of the Vibonese Area, and is located on the Tyrrhenian coast at the foot of Monte Poro.
It was a Greek colony, then Roman and Norman.
It is now a seaside resort among the most famous in Italy.
The heart of the town of Tropea is Piazza Ercole from "Portus Herculis”.
It is called "The Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea" with its natural beauty as the stumbling block of S. Leonardo and the island of St. Mary and her artistic monuments as The Cathedral and The Church of St. Demetrio.
Very interesting: Via Boiano, the most charming street of the old town and Villa Braghò, one of the many residences of patricians.
