Ricadi lies on the promontory at the base of the plateau Poro among Briatico and Tropea, whose summit is named Capo Vaticano.

It boasts many archaeological finds, come to light in different excavation campaigns. Prehistoric site, then Phoenician, Carthaginian, Locresi, Romans, Byzantine, Normans and Saracens lived there.

Ricadi and Capo Vaticano, the most evocative angles of all Calabria, offer the opportunity to admire the Aeolian Islands and to enjoy a holiday in the middle of a nature rich in fruit trees, made of sun, sea, clean beaches with fine white sand and black rocks.

Together with its two major fractions Santa Domenica and San Nicolò, it is also famous for the cultivation of a special onion called "Tropea” , red purple and with specific medical and nutritional virtues.

The Museum of Civiltà Contadina preserves materials of popular culture and tools.
