Cetine is situated in the hills around Siena, in an area with a big natural, historical and mineralogical importance.
The antimony mine, abandoned of over 50 years, it's still famous for the peculiar minerals found only here.

In the medieval village of Chiusdino, there is a little museum about the history of the mine and Siena university is preparing guided tours. The farm house, restored with simplicity for hospitality, can accommodate 25 guests. It has a floor space of 400 m2 on two levels. There are 8 rooms with their own bathrooms, a central kitchen, a dining room, music and reading rooms, a group activities room, a terrace and the pottery and painting workshops. Behind the house is a forest of oaks and Mediterranean scrub with many species of plants, animals and mushrooms. Other outdoor spaces include a large lawn, the organic vegetable garden and a wisteria pergola. The stone walls of the house ensure coolness in summer. The house has central heating for the winter and a large fireplace.
