The Palombara is located in the middle of a zone surrounded by medieval castles such as Mondavio, Corinaldo, Mondolfo and Monteporzio. It is very close to Fano and Senigallia romanic towns. The Palombara also offers historical and cultural itineraries which embrace a long period of Italian ancient times.
In 1534 the property of Castelvecchio was handed over to the Duca Della Rovere of Urbino by the abbot of San Lorenzo in Campo. When the last Duca Della Rovere died, Castelvecchio passed to the Stato Pontificio. In the meantime the big estate was inherited by the daughter of Francesco II, Vittora Della Rovere, who later sold it to Principi Barberini.
The Palombara, a big farmhouse of Principi Barberini, was on the ruins of an ancient monastery.
It is a beautiful and peaceful place, completely surrounded by nature, including a wonderful view of the deep blue Adriatic Sea.
Their Chef offers special dishes belonging to both traditional and modern cuisine. The meals are served in a very soft atmosphere, the restaurant is furnished with old traditional furniture and can be lighted just by candles or torches.
