I Fontanini is a recently restored 16th Century hamlet on the Emilia Romagna Apennines, 45 km from Modena and Bologna, 650 m. /1710 ft. above sea level.
The houses are situated at the edge of a chestnut wood and enjoy an impressive view of the surrounding hills and valleys. The tranquillity of the site allows guests to appreciate the sounds of the countryside. The gardens are provided with furniture and BBQs, perfect for enjoying life outside.

There are several different buildings: a dove cote tower named "Torre", a fortificated house named "Casa Forte" and a tower-house named "Casa del podere". Fontanini derives its name from the presence of springs (fountains) that have always been vital for the dwellers and allowed them to survive the terrible plague in 1630
